When will construction on the new HJCRC begin?

Planning initiatives are currently underway that will inform City Council’s decision to move ahead with the project. Once approved, further planning will determine construction timelines.

Will the existing HJCRC remain open during construction?

The new HJCRC will be located on the north side of 23rd Street. This location will allow for the existing HJCRC to remain open during construction of the new facility.

Who owns the land where the existing HJCRC is located and where the new HJCRC will be located?

The City of North Vancouver owns the land at both sites.

What will happen to Mickey McDougall Centre?

Current plans are for the new HJCRC to be one facility. The City of North Vancouver is conducting feasibility studies for options for the future use of the Mickey McDougall Gym and adjacent field.

What happens now with the survey results?

The survey feedback has been compiled and used to inform the overall vision and design of the new HJCRC. A summary document on what we heard can be found below:
